My Setting

I live with my children in a three bedroom semi detached property in a quiet cul-de-sac in Dallam, Warrington, Cheshire.

I have lived in Warrington all my life, so have a wealth of knowledge of activities and places to visit.

My home has a fully enclosed and child friendly rear garden, with play equipment and a paddling pool and small bouncy castle in the summer. I take sun protection very seriously, therefore a large gazebo is erected adjacent to the doors during the summer so that meals can be taken outside in the fresh air whenever possible, and so that activities such as painting, gluing and sticking and drawing can also be done outside whenever the weather permits.

Inside our home there is a large Living area with an integral play area with plenty of toys for children of all ages. This will be the main childminding room i use. I also have many resources for the children including arts and crafts, reading and many board games, as well as a wooden role-play kitchen.

The  main kitchen also has a table and chairs, allowing extra space for children to enjoy cooking and baking.

The house is completely non-smoking.

In order for older children to relax, I have a designated area in my living room with comfy sofas, books and games or a small amount of television or DVD time in order to recharge after a hectic day at school.

There is also a park  - about a minutes walk away with a play area and fields for the children to play in, as well as giving the opportunity to spend summer days there, either playing in the park or looking at nature and enjoying a picnic lunch or tea.

Also Sankey Valley Park, perfect place to see wildlife, feed the ducks and explore safely but freely. collecting pine cones and other interesting items to use in our sensory box or art activities.
