About me

Hello, My name is Emma and i am an OFSTED Registered Childminder.  Im a mummy to my little boy Ethan-James who was born on 9th March 2012 and also to Darcie-Rose who was born on 29th May 2015. We have a small well behaved friendly dog called Teddy. he is a Cavachon breed.

Here at Emmas Home from Home childminding I offer loving, child-led where possible, and respectful childcare in a 'home from home' environment,

You may be looking for a childminder who is like minded in your way of parenting, possibly someone who will respond to your child quickly and not letting them cry, who will use gentle discipline and not time out? or even just someone who will treat your child with the respect and care they deserve. If this is what you are looking for then i may be the childminder for your little one.

Being a parent I know Finding the right person to look after the most precious thing in your life can be an emotional & stressful time You want to know that your child is in good hands as well as ensuring they are developing, ready for entry into school. This is why I offer settling in sessions or even just come along for a short time and get to know me and my little ones after all their going to be playing and learning together.

I also have extensive knowledge on a few other things which may be of reassurance for you or maybe your just interested?

I Cloth Nappy so if this is something you would like to know about feel free to ask i can offer demos and point you in the way of the local Cloth nappy library run by my friend.

Baby Led weaning is the route I weaned Ethan and most recently Darcie so I may be able to help there..

Allergy Awareness, Ethan is Allergic to Egg and Soya therefore I have extensive knowledge understanding and care when planning his diet.

I have extensive childcare experience and am also qualified to NVQ level 3 in childcare and education. I hold a full paediatric first aid certificate and a level 2 in food safety.

I have worked within the childhood sector working with children 0-5 years since leaving school in 2002, starting out as a modern apprentice then working my way up the career ladder to baby room leader caring for babies aged 0-18 months in a busy 64 place day nursery.

My son attends St Barnabas C of E primary school so collections and drop offs there isnt a problem.

Settling in sessions can be arranged whereby you can either stay & observe or leave your child for an hour or two to see how they like it. Getting them here is the easy bit - wrestling with them to leave is often the tricky part!
