Menu Information

At Emma's Home from Home, I believe that a healthy diet produces happy, healthy and alert children.

For this reason the food which is served is home-cooked, wherever possible. Menus are planned on a weekly basis and I try to offer a wide variety of foods to suit all tastes and encourage the trying of new flavours. I do not use salt in  any of my cooking and prefer to season with herbs and spices. Should your child have any specific dietary needs, allergies, likes or dislikes please inform me so that I can plan accordingly.

I am happy to provide food for babies whilst they are being weaned, be that Baby Led Weaned or Traditional weaning using spoon fed purees.  I will only give a baby foods that a parent has already given them at home (this is for allergy reasons).

I ask parents to fill in a sheet as foods are tried and we can amend this as necessary. If parents would prefer to provide food for babies that are weaning I ask that all parents label all packets and dried food.

I am happy to provide all children with a Light Lunch and a 2 Course Meal at teatime, as well as a morning and afternoon snack, I would prefer if foods were not brought in from home due to allergies of other children

Breakfast is also available for children who arrive between 8 and 9am. Children who arrive after meal times should be fed before they arrive.

Parents of infants will need to supply all formula, breast milk and baby food if not having food stated above. I will need written permission to give your baby jar or packet food. I will talk to parents about their babies needs so that we can make sure that they are adequately met.

If a child has allergies and requires a modified diet, I must be notified of this in writing and I am also happy to discuss menus with parents.

An appropriate substitution will be made, if possible, but if a child has so many allergies that (s)he cannot eat from the menu, I may require the parents to provide his/her lunch and snacks.
