A Typical Day

Here at Emma's Home from Home Childminding i am very child-led in my approach, so I don't follow strict routines that wouldn't take into account the children's day-to-day needs. We do have a basic structure, because children benefit from consistency, but there is room for flexibility - I believe children should eat when they are hungry, rest when they are tired, and enjoy activities they are interested in not simply because we want them to.

So if your child's daily routine is different from mine, don't worry, there is always some room for negotiation. I also recognise that on some days children's routines may slightly differ from other days - perhaps they're more tired, or going through a growth spurt, or have developed a new interest. I observe the children and talk to the parents to see what works.

However as an OFSTED Registered Childminder i do have rules and regualations to follow therefore i will be adhering to the EYFS Statutory framework to meet the Early years outcomes and requirements.
